COVID-19:

The Statewide order to "Stay home, Stay safe"  caused many survivors of domestic violence to be quarantined with their abusers.   Statistics say that  a victim of domestic violence is 7 times more likely to die at the hands of an abuser once he/she decides to leave.  We saw a major uptick in DV related deaths as well as a backlog of survivors ready to flee once the State of MI reopened.  DV shelters and Family Shelters were at capacity during the State shut down leaving many survivors to stay home in violent and potential fatal circumstances.

Supreme Transitions provided FREE Uber rides to survivors, PPE, food supplies, assistance completing grant funded assistance programs applications, Zoom appearances, PPO's, Warm referrals, virtual learning assistance and supplies for children, emergency relocation services, furniture, and home safety/security measures and cameras.  We provided leads and referrals to mental health programs and children's mental health programs.  Supreme Transitions assisted several survivors that were entrepreneurs gain financial stability through second chance bank accounts, business planning, and restart grants applications submissions.  Financial empowerment is key to the success of a survivor.  We assisted several survivors in credit repair, building, and monitoring education programs.
